Governor Phillip B. Scott

"Sam Douglass will work with me in Montpelier to grow the economy and make Vermont more affordable. In the Senate, he'll advocate for lower taxes, addressing crime, and finding real solutions to the housing crisis. Sam is a common sense candidate who will always vote in the best interest of the Northeast Kingdom, regardless of party. We need him in Montpelier, and I encourage the people of Orleans County to vote for Sam Douglass for state Senate."

Governor Scott has served as Vermont's governor from 2017-Present, and he serves as America's most popular governor with an 85.6% approval rating.

Governor James H. Douglas

"Vermont is at a crossroads: our population is aging, and our workforce is shrinking as more families decide that they just can’t afford to live here.

The current supermajority in Montpelier goes merrily along, raising taxes while they claim that there’s nothing they can do to right the ship. That’s why the legislature needs new blood and fresh ideas.

Sam Douglass will bring real-life experience and common sense to the State Senate. He knows what it’s like to work for a living and he wants every Vermonter to be able to live and work here.

Sam won’t simply vote the party line, as many of the Montpelier politicians do; he’ll always do what’s right for Vermont.

Our legislature needs balance, rather than the partisan dominance that prevails today. We need Sam Douglass in the Vermont Senate"

Governor Douglas served from 2003-2011

Fmr. Senator John Rogers

"Sam is an intelligent and hardworking young man with a lot of great ideas and deserves a chance. I've had various discussions with Sam, and I truly believe he is by far this district's best hope for real honest representation in the Vermont State Senate.

The future of the state depends on us electing enough good state senators to sustain the Governor's veto when the legislature forwards out of control spending. Sam is that candidate."

"Sam has a passionate heart for keeping our agricultural economy strong and vibrant. He wants to encourage the growth of new generations of innovative farmers who will maintain our Vermont beauty and continue to be the backbone of our small communities.  Sam also sees the challenges that Vermonters face with the rising cost of living. He will stand strong for policies that put you and your concerns first. His priorities will always be to protect your freedoms, keep us safe, and help us afford living in this lovely state."

Gary Mason (Albany)

"This year I will not be voting as a Democrat or Republican. I will not be voting for people who I feel will actually vote differently in Montpelier from what he or she states while campaigning. I will not be voting for someone who I feel would only use the office as a stepping stone to higher office. I will not be voting for someone who I feel will vote with a party's leadership for policies that accomplish nothing and will require more taxes in the future to keep going without solving a problem. I will be voting for people who I feel will be using common sense and supporting policies that will actually help make Vermont better and more affordable.

This November I will be voting for Sam Douglass to represent my district in the state senate.

"I am excited to finally see a candidate that believes in so many values that I consider essential to supporting residents of the NEK and Vermont. Too many residents are struggling to survive in our current economic climate, while Montpelier continues to focus on policies that only increase our tax burden to support the few and not the majority. Sam will serve the people of the NEK and advocate for policies that make sense fiscally and support our current resident base. Sam Douglass 2024!"

"Sam is a hard worker who is passionate about strengthening our local communities and businesses. Because he is committed to attentive and effective representation, he has knocked on over a thousand doors in the district to personally meet and listen to voter’s opinions and concerns. Those who opened their door know he is both civil and respectful to all even if they strongly disagree with him. In addition, he is open-minded and will carefully consider all views.

Please consider voting for Samuel Douglass.”

I hope you will all join me in voting for Sam Douglass, both in the August 13th Primary as well as in November’s General Election to serve as our area’s Senator.  I know Sam and his desires to support rural Vermonters and the needs for this part of Vermont.  Having served on Lowell’s Selectboard, Town Moderator and Fire Chief for Many years, I understand the complexities and concerns of our communities.  I have had the opportunity to speak extensively with Sam, and it’s obvious that he shares the same concerns, and would love to bring them to Montpelier and actually work on our behalf.  Again, please help me put Sam in Montpelier to work for US!  Thank You

"Sam is the man of the people. He is the person who will talk about any issue and will always do what is in the interest of the community.  He supports lowering taxes so you have more in your pocket, building local businesses to support fair markets, and he wants the best for our future generations by pushing good education for our kids and supporting teachers. Sam is a Vermonter for Vermonters"

"Samuel Douglass will make a great Senator! Sam is a dedicated, devoted Vermonter that puts his fellow neighbors and friends as priority. Sam will proudly represent our region for generations of Vermonters past and our youth of Vermont's future. Sam is the greatest choice for Vermonters, as he will help lead us to be more self-sufficient for the future.

I proudly vote for Samuel Douglass!"

Joanne Warner (Lowell)

Janet Gosselin (Westfield)

"Sam is the future of Vermont. He is young, smart, and he cares. He won’t be a rubber

stamp to the crazy spending which the super majority currently has a monopoly on. He

will be able to work with moderates and with the Governor to bring some sanity back to

Vermont government. Having a younger voice and a younger perspective, yet also

having someone who knows how to work hard and communicates with passion and

empathy. I believe Sam Douglas will be just the right addition to the senate. He has my

vote."

Adam Damon (Troy)

Janet Gosselin (Westfield)

Jeannine Young (Craftsbury)

"Sam has a commonsense approach to keeping things simple. Nothing fancy, no exorbitant promises, just trying to ensure an affordable rural Vermont life while maintaining our liberties."

Jeannine Young (Craftsbury)

"Sam will work to prioritize attracting new business and supporting businesses we already have in Vermont. Sam will work to lower taxes for Vermont's working families. Vermont families are being priced out of their own state. Some are spending six months and a day in states where it is warmer and have no income tax so they can claim residency. Then Vermont gets zero income taxes from them. Many Vermonters do not have the luxary of leaving the state for six months and have to pay the high taxes. With lower taxes, maybe fewer Vermonters would feel like they have to give up their Vermont residency. Vote for a more affordable Vermont. Elect Sam Douglass and break the Democrat supermajority's stronghold on Vermonters."

"I want something different.  I don’t want who we have had in office to be promoted from Representative to Senate.  I want change and I want a voice and that means voting for Samuel Douglass.  Please take the time to learn more by attending one of his events, reaching out to him through his site to talk with him.  As soon as you meet him you will know he is the person you want speaking for us.  Our voice may seem small but we are worthy of having the best and that is Samuel Douglass.  Thank you Samuel Douglass for running to give all of us a voice that I know won’t be done otherwise."

Jason Willis (North Troy)

Jeannine Young (Craftsbury)

"I first met Sam at one o’clock in the morning when he stopped to put out a fire at Senator Bobby Starr’s house. He had the fire out by the time the fire department arrived, and we both introduced ourselves to each other and have had many conversations since.

Sam has many of the same qualities that I look for in our Volunteer Fire Department. Work ethic, compassion for others, and selflessness. From day one this spring, I have seen him sacrifice and work harder for the people than I have ever seen from a candidate before. He’s honest and I see him around in our community.

He came to our department to listen to us and we gave him an earful and now he has draft

bills written up that I think will go a long way to fixing the problems we told him about.

I will vote for Republicans or Democrats, and I put people over party. Sam isn’t a politician, and we need fewer politicians in office. Please join me in voting for Samuel Douglass for state senate."
