"This year I will not be voting as a Democrat or Republican. I will not be voting for people who I feel will actually vote differently in Montpelier from what he or she states while campaigning. I will not be voting for someone who I feel would only use the office as a stepping stone to higher office. I will not be voting for someone who I feel will vote with a party's leadership for policies that accomplish nothing and will require more taxes in the future to keep going without solving a problem. I will be voting for people who I feel will be using common sense and supporting policies that will actually help make Vermont better and more affordable.

I hope you will all join me in voting for Sam Douglass, both in the August 13th Primary as well as in November’s General Election to serve as our area’s Senator.  I know Sam and his desires to support rural Vermonters and the needs for this part of Vermont.  Having served on Lowell’s Selectboard, Town Moderator and Fire Chief for Many years, I understand the complexities and concerns of our communities.  I have had the opportunity to speak extensively with Sam, and it’s obvious that he shares the same concerns, and would love to bring them to Montpelier and actually work on our behalf.  Again, please help me put Sam in Montpelier to work for US!  Thank You

"I first met Sam at one o’clock in the morning when he stopped to put out a fire at Senator Bobby Starr’s house. He had the fire out by the time the fire department arrived, and we both introduced ourselves to each other and have had many conversations since. 

Sam has many of the same qualities that I look for in our Volunteer Fire Department. Work ethic, compassion for others, and selflessness. From day one this spring, I have seen him sacrifice and work harder for the people than I have ever seen from a candidate before. He’s honest and I see him around in our community.

He came to our department to listen to us and we gave him an earful and now he has draft

bills written up that I think will go a long way to fixing the problems we told him about.

I will vote for Republicans or Democrats, and I put people over party. Sam isn’t a politician, and we need fewer politicians in office. Please join me in voting for Samuel Douglass for state senate."
